Editor’s Corner

Hello and welcome to the Graphics Tip Sheet
Are you having a tough time with your graphics? If so, you’ve come to the right place. I’m Heather Colman, chief cook & bottle washer at this establishment and designing graphics is my passion.
One of the biggest complaints I’ve had during the last 10 years of my business is to see my clients butcher the results of my hardwork. I know it’s not intentional. It’s done from lack of knowledge.
No one in their right mind hires a designer to make a professional ebook cover and then does something intentional to make the image look like it’s on drugs. But it happens… a lot.
At least 30% of my clients have no clue how to handle or display graphics properly. Many don’t know how to incorporate them into their html code or where to place them on the page.
Some don’t understand why you can’t take a small image and increase the size without loosing quality. Afterall… you can do it at Walmart.
And some expect miracles that just aren’t possible.
The Graphics Tip Sheet™ is where I’m going to answer your questions and share graphic related tips and tidbits with you. I’ll address display and handling issues and teach you things to help make your experience in working with graphics a lot easier for you and make them look better on your website. This is the place to get a grip.
From time to time I’ll include words of wisdom from other design professionals to round things out and cover areas I’m not as familiar with.
If you didn’t send me your “Biggest Challenge with Graphics”when you first subscribed, please do it now. This will help me keep the content for the Graphics Tip Sheet™ focused on your needs and help you with what’s most important to you.
